I am metalskillworker and presently I do live in Germany.Recently I did return from a several months lasting Philippinesjourney,to among other things,visit an European friend who did move over to the Philippines 2,5years ago.
My leisuretime I do spend riding my Harley Davidson bike,and provided there s no lack of time and money, I do travell by bike across Europe to visit people I did meet on my journeys before.
In the early 90ties I did take part in a 8000km businesstrip with a friend who s a dealer for indian crafts and art ,by truck across the USA.Fantastic country and a lot of great impressions,but I haven t got this special "Kick"
This special "Kick"I ve got 1year later when I did travell to Thailand with a friend just for relaxing.
I did return to Asia manytimes to travell around within the neighbourcountries as well(Laos, Vietnam, Singapore,Parts of Indonesia and the Philippines).
I did travell around with everything which was available for transport from A to B.Publicferrys,fisherboats,taxis,busses ,trains,airplanes and of course motorbikes.
All the above mentioned countries I do account for safe except special areas of the Southphilippines(Mindanao) and parts of Indonesia (East Timor and the Provinz of Aceh- on Sumatra).
As long as local humans become treaten with respect and nobody make the humans believe you re a millionär not one do bother you.
I was been involved in Asia in unpleasant situations as well(hospitalstays in Thailand,police-corruption in Southvietnam)but similar situations may happen in our homecountries as well.?
Much more europeanlike is the situation in Australia,where I did work and live 1997 for several months ,to make my own opinion about genuine Australianlifestyle and to earn money for my further trip across downunder.
Some customers of the motorbikeshop I did work do have more knowledge about (their??) country than boxes of colourful touribrochures full of expensive touriinformation.
From roadtraindrivers to parkrangers or policeofficers"Aussies" are very helpful.
I was been well advised regarding the warnings , for what I should better pay attention for,special when crossing the outbacks and the choise of equippment.
"Take it easy and no worries"and after 7000km and 4Months later I did not realize anything of "Ayers Rock"or one of the specialtouristspots along the touristtrail.
Australia has to offer many faces ,for example outbacklifestyle in Mount Isa,where once a year place the biggest rodeo of S`tralia and the hardened stockmen do fight for honour and glory on the back of living bulls.Many aboriginal humans hanging around the rodeoarea are genuine faces of Australia as well.
Old pubs from the periods of the pioneertime in centralaustralia are worth stopping over for an evening and having fun when the bushmen do entertain themselves and the pubguests playing the fidel,guitar and mouthorgan.
The ones on the left do prefer sightseeing,the ones on the right do prefer lifestyle of the country.
